Expat injured in fire incident in Bidiyah

Muscat, August 22 - An Asian was injured and goods worth thousands of riyals were destroyed in a fire triggered by gas explosion in a commercial complex in Bidiyah early on Tuesday. According to the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA), the Asian national suffered minor injuries in the incident, which was reported at 03:56 am. A bus parked near the site was also damaged. PACDA urged owners of shops and commercial establishments to take precautionary measures and ensure fire safety requirements are in place. In another incident, a fire broke out in a restaurant following a gas explosion, injuring one person. A fire was put out in a supermarket in Al Musannah on Monday. No casualties were reported.
