His Majesty issues 2 Royal Decrees

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos on Wednesday issued two Royal Decrees. Royal Decree No 39/2017 promulgates the Law on Organising and Protecting Sites of Aflaj registered in the World Heritage List after the law had been presented before the Council of Oman. Article 1 of the Decree states that provisions of the attached Law on Organising and Protecting Sites of Aflaj registered in the World Heritage List shall be enforced. Article 2 says that this law shall be published in the Official Gazette. Royal Decree No 40/2017 appoints two non-resident ambassadors. Article 1 of the Royal Decree appoints Hunaina bint Sultan bin Ahmed al Mughairiyah, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the United States of America, as the Sultanate’s Extraordinary, Plenipotentiary and Non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba. Article 2 appoints Liyutha bint Sultan bin Ahmed al Mughairiyah, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, as the Sultanate’s Extraordinary, Plenipotentiary and Non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Kingdom of Denmark, Republic of Poland, Republic of Finland, Republic of Iceland and Swiss Confederation. Article 3 says that this Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from the date of issue. — ONA
