Alawi holds talks with UN Chief and General Assembly president

NEW YORK: Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs met with Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, and Miroslav Lajcak, President of the UN General Assembly. During the meetings an agreement has been reached to enhance cooperation between the Sultanate and the UN. They also reviewed the current international and regional issues and ways of finding suitable solutions to those issues through the UN efforts and the parties concerned. The minister responsible for foreign affairs listened to a detailed explanation of the UN reform plan currently under discussion by the UN member states. The UN officials expressed their appreciation to the Sultanate’s role on both regional and international levels as well as its continued support to the efforts being made by the UN in various fields. — ONA
