700 fishing permits for job-seekers

MUSCAT: A total of 700 fishing permits will be issued for job-seekers in the coastal governorates of the Sultanate, said Dr Fuad bin Jaafar al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. Permits will be granted in accordance with the ministry’s rules and regulations. Job-seekers will be granted only one valid fishing permit each, depending on the quota allocated for each governorate. Permits will be issued based on precedence of applications provided the job-seeker does not already own a licensed fishing boat. The process of issuing applications will begin from October 8 at all the directorate-generals of coastal governorates. The last date for receipt of applications is December 31.
