SQU, Oman Broadband sign cooperation agreement

MUSCAT: Within the framework of cooperation between different private and government institutions to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors and in order to improve ICT services and economic infrastructure, Sultan Qaboos University and Oman Broadband Company signed a cooperation agreement. Prof Ali bin Huwaishal Al-Shuaili, Deputy VC for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Said bin Abdullah Al Mandhri, CEO of Oman Broadband Company, signed the agreement. The agreement is related to renting a university site to build a high-speed Internet service centre. According to the agreement, the university will rent 400 square metres of its land to build a telecommunication centre and provide telecommunication services and high-speed internet. Oman Broadband will have the right to use the land area for five years, and can be renewed for further periods based on written request from the company.
