Citizen arrested for stealing card and cash

Muscat: The Buraimi police arrested a citizen on charges of stealing a credit card and withdrawing cash from it. A statement from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said the accused stole the card from a person with special needs and withdrew RO 630 from the ATM of a local bank in Buraimi Industrial Area. ROP’s investigation team managed to trace the accused and arrest him. 5 held for theft In another incident, the Buraimi police on Monday arrested five people, including an Asian national, on charges of theft and impersonation of police officers in the district of Al Qadi. According to the complaint, three Asian nationals were robbed by four people who entered their house claiming they were policemen. The three were to hand over their mobile phones and cash. A search was launched, which resulted in the arrest of the accused. The five confessed to the crime. 3 arrested for smuggling The Buraimi police arrested three people on charges of attempting to smuggle tobacco and alcohol products in Wadi al Moqli. Inspections revealed they were carrying the goods in a vehicle.
