New training facility opens at IMCO

SUHAR: Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education and Chairman of IMCO Board of Directors, inaugurated the new training facility related to survival crafts and rescue boats at International Maritime College Oman (IMCO), campus in Suhar. The new facility complements the college’s efforts in providing all required training facilities in accordance with international standards, especially the Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW) by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). With this inauguration, IMCO emphasises to provide a high quality educational and training environment which enriches the academic curricula and specialised training courses in the field of nautical studies and other related fields. IMCO is determined to complete this path and provide training needs in terms of more facilities, extra services, and up to date curricula. The Board of Directors held its meeting on October 17.
