Campaign to preserve Omani identity launched

MUSCAT: The ‘My Country: Ethics and Customs’ campaign and the Inshad competition ‘Al Tair al Mahki’ was inaugurated on Monday at the College of Sharia Sciences in Al Khuwair under the patronage of Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Rowas, His Majesty the Sultan’s Adviser for Cultural Affairs. Manal bint Abdulaziz al Rowas, who oversees the campaign, pointed out in her speech that the ‘My Country: Ethics and Customs’ campaign is an invitation to uphold the ancient inherited values that are based on peace and benevolence, adding that the land, plants and fruits of Oman have long been good for all without exception. The campaign aims to strengthen the national identity to preserve the Omani identity in the face of modern changes and a message to promote ethics and values that contribute to building bridges of communication between different cultures. The My Country: Ethics and Customs campaign at its various stations will be accompanied by ‘Al Tair al Mahki’ competition, an Inshad competition that encourages the Inshad talents of community members and develops their skills in the field of Inshad and calls for ethics, patriotism and develops the spirit of competition among participants. At the end of the inauguration, Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Rowas, His Majesty the Sultan’s Adviser for Cultural Affairs, honoured companies and individuals sponsors of the campaign.
