One life lost after mountain landslide in Samail, reports PACDA

Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) Oman said that a man died after a mountain collapsed in Tuwi al Nisf area near Samail on Thursday.  The collapse of part of a mountain was due to the impact of some construction work at the site, authorities said. An Asian expatriate suffered moderate injures. A number of people were trapped following a the landslide as the rescue teams rushed to the rushing to the accident site. PACDA kept updating people about status of the rescue efforts.  Companies involved in construction work have been urged to take proper safety measures.
