HM Cup draw announced

Muscat: The draw for the round of 32 of His Majesty’s Cup Football Championship, 2017 was held under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin Asaad bin Tareq al Said at Al Shafaq Club, on Sunday. Held by Oman Football Association (OFA), the draw was attended by a number of Their Highnesses, Their Excellences, heads of clubs and football associations from Fourteen clubs from Omantel League. Fourteen teams from Omantel League along with 13 others from the first division and the five teams which qualified from the second division, will participate in the tournament. Al Nahda will take on Al Nasr while Dhofar will meet Saham in two of the most powerful matches. Reigning champions Al Suwaiq will take on second-division team Qurayat. Other matches include: Samayil v Al Musannah Jaalan v Al Wusta Al Shabab v Majees Al Arouba v Nizwa Mirbat v Oman Bushar v Ahil Sidab Al Rustaq v Al Itifaq Suhar v Bahla Al Salam v Sur Seeb v Salalah Badiyah v Al Ittihad Al Bashair v Muscat Al Mudhaibi v Fanja The round of 32 matches will be played on November 17, 18 and the single-elimination system will be applied. If the original time ended in draw, penalty shoot-outs will determine which teams will advance to the round of 16. The round of 16 matches will be played on February 3, 2018.
