Person arrested for money theft, car vandalism in Muscat

The Department of Criminal Investigation in Muscat has arrested an accused of African nationality on charges of theft and sabotage of a vehicle in Muscat. An official source in the Royal Oman Police said that the suspect tracked down one of the citizens after he withdrew money from a bank and placed it in his vehicle.

As the victim reached home, the accused vandalized his vehicle and stole a sum of RO25000, which was seized during the investigation. The accused admitted to the charge and was referred to the judicial authorities to complete the legal proceedings. The Royal Oman Police calls on citizens and residents not to leave large amounts of money behind when they leave their vehicles.
