Festival showcases camels, horses’ talents

MUSCAT: A sports festival held at the Wilayat of Al Khabourah was organised by the Equestrian Club under the auspices of Dr Khalid bin Salem al Saidi, Secretary General of the State Council. The programme included presentation of a series of traditional horses and camel arts including camel ‘Humbel’, followed by traditional arts called as ‘Mohorab’. The ceremony also included a review of the club’s knights where they expressed their talents and experiences. The patron of the ceremony also distributed prizes and gifts to the winners and participants in the festival. It is expected that such festivals will play a significant role in preserving Omani traditional folklore and also promote the importance of such arts forms.
