The first trial run of a flight from the new Muscat International Airport will take place on December 23, announced the Minister of Transport and Communications at the 11th edition of the 2017 Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Exchange forum, which will continue until Thursday. Based on the results from the test run and the public trials, the ministry of transport and communications will announce the scheduled opening of the airport. The 2020 strategy aims to develop the performance of the Sultanate's airports and increase its capacity to service the Tourism, Logistics and other sectors important for economic growth across the nation. In creating and operating state-of-the-art airports, OAMC will present numerous opportunities that will significantly enhance the social and economic prosperity of Oman.
