Omran to run 5 projects

The ministry of tourism will sign an agreement on Sunday to transfer five projects to Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran). The transfer will mark the first phase of a plan to separate the legislative and the executive roles in the tourism sector. The ministry will focus on legislations and plans for developing the sector while Omran will implement the plans. In the first phase Omran will manage Ras Al Jinz project, Al Hoota Cave, Al Auwayfiyah Rest House, Al Ashkhara Rest House and Salalah Rest House. The transfer of these projects followed efforts by a joint teamwork from the ministry and Omran. The rest of the projects will be transferred to Omran in a phased manner during the coming period.
