International intellect meet begins

MUSCAT: The 2nd International Intellect Conference, which comes under the theme of “Intellect and its Role in Building Awareness of the Arabian Gulf region,” began on Monday at the headquarters of the Omani Society for Writers and Literati. The conference discusses the intellect and the extent of its influence in the Gulf region to reach a clear vision based on realistic interpretations. A number of thinkers, intellectuals and writers from the Arab Gulf region will participate in the conference, which includes a number of topics including “The role of Gulf women in intellectual building and the media: its relation to the intellectual project”, “the capacity of academic institutions in intellectual renewal and the ability to build common thinking in the Gulf region”. The conference is part of the Cultural Committee of the Muscat Festival. The committee is keen to enrich the cultural and literary scene in the Sultanate through the participation of prominent thinkers, intellectuals and writers from inside and outside the Sultanate. — ONA
