Al Jabal al Akhdar villages have about 50 small dams

AL JABAL AL AKHDAR: There are about 50 small dams in the villages of Al Jabal al Akhdar (Green Mountain) with a capacity ranging between (840-10,200) cubic metres. Al Jabal al Akhdar, which ranges between 2,000 and 3,000 metres, is located in the central part of the northern Oman mountain range. The fascinating scenery and beautiful villages on the slopes of the mountain are the most important features. Rain falls on the mountain in winter and summer. A number of underground recharge dams, surface storage and protection dams have been constructed by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
