School symposium to support education development opens

MUSCAT: Under the patronage Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, SchoolEx Symposium and Exhibition 2018 was inaugurated at Oman convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday. SchoolEx Symposium and Exhibition 2018 is conducted by the Ministry of Education represented by the Directorate-General of Private Schools, and aims to support the continued development of education in the Sultanate by providing schools with a forum to share best practice, as well as an opportunity to promote their services to the wider public. In addition, the exhibition also aims to provide school staff with access to some of the latest educational thinking, to provide a forum for school leaders to network and share best practices, to highlight a variety of successful educational projects within Oman and the pioneering role of the Directorate-General of Private Schools in supporting school improvement. The Symposium and Exhibition gave an opportunity to share ideas and experiences with a broad range of specialists in the sector, to create new partnerships between educational service providers and schools, to support continuous improvement of private education and to increase community awareness of the range of programmes available in private schools. The participants at the Symposium and Exhibition are publishers and providers of foreign and Arabic educational programmes, institutions with international qualifications, training institutes supervising courses to improve language performance, authorised distributors of educational chains and resources, private health centres, suppliers of internal control systems (surveillance cameras), suppliers of security and safety systems in the educational environment, companies providing electronic supervision system for students in school buses, school feeding providers, providers of sports service, music service providers, suppliers of school furniture, school supplies suppliers, school cleaning service providers, suppliers of educational and technical means, suppliers of contract services for workers and personnel, providers of health insurance, suppliers of educational loans, aviation service providers and private schools. With the participation of all representatives of publishing houses and accreditation institutions accredited, SchoolEx 2018 Symposium includes the open discussion sessions, plenary sessions of official speakers, technical workshops for educational curricula, technical training courses for educational curricula, roundtable discussions and mini conference on language literature. The symposium and exhibition include events namely reading competitions offered by Arab and foreign publishing houses, expressive drawing competitions presented by some Arab and foreign publishing houses, Interactive theater for children, ‘Where I Am’ competition and Gifts for advertising campaign participant schools. The exhibition concludes tomorrow.
