Pakistan blank Oman

MUSCAT, Feb 14 - Pakistan blanked Oman 3-0 in the opening match of the three-nation friendly hockey tournament in Muscat on Wednesday. Favourites Pakistan dominated the match despite spirited challenge from Omani players at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Pakistan scored one goal each in the first three quarters, while Oman staved off the Pakistani challenge in the final quarter of the match to keep the score at 3-0. Shan Ali netted a field goal in the 13th minute to score the first goal of the tournament. Pakistan went up 2-0 when Ahmed Ajaz scored a field goal in the 21st minute. Rasool Shaqfat completed the scoreline with another field goal in the 45th minute of the match. On Thursday, Pakistan will face Japan.
