Al Kaabi appointed Oman national teams’ director; Adwani to oversee OL

Muscat, may 2 - Former Oman national football team manager Juma al Kaabi was appointed as national teams department director at Oman Football Association (OFA) from May 1. Also, the OFA has assigned Hisham al Adwani to be the director of Omantel League’s professional department replacing Shaikh Shabib al Hosni. Juma al Kaabi was Oman’s national team manager from 2002 to 2007. Al Kaabi has participated in four Gulf Cups as the manager. Al Kaabi also has a training diploma from Germany which he had received in 1994.  He has done various Asian and Arabian training courses. He worked as the assistant coach for U-19 and U-16 national teams in 1990 to 1998. Al Kaabi supported the Oman national football team to get the fourth place in the World Cup U-16 in 1995. Al Adwani, who was the former Oman Basketball Association vice chairman during 2012-2014, will have a huge task in the coming season. The current season 2017/2018 has been very difficult for the clubs as they have some league rounds in the holy month of Ramadhan and add to that the huge gaps between some rounds to the next. Al Adwani was the secretary- general for Oman’s Basketball Association in 2009 to 2012. He also was the board member of Al Suwaiq club in 2014. He worked in Oman Olympic Committee as Olympic Solidarity Manager.
