ADVANCED NURSING PRACTICE WORKSHOP

The Oman Nursing Institute (ONI) organised a workshop on Wednesday titled ‘Advanced Nursing Practice’ under the auspices of Dr Ali bin Talib al Hinai, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning Affairs, at the Institutes of Health Sciences. The workshop aimed at reviewing the Sultanate’s experience in introducing the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (NP) service. During the workshop, an orientation about the new profession in Oman, which is the Nurse Practitioner (NP), was discussed. These included job role definition, scope of practice, rules and regulations and different classification of the NP. It also discussed the challenges, recommendations and opportunities of NP in Oman.
