Company penalised for dumping in public places

May 14 - The urban inspection department of the Municipality of Muscat, in Bausher, in the course of field inspections, has penalised a company in Misfah for dumping the residues of the marble products in public places, thereby distorting the public landscape. The Muscat Municipality has been conducting a campaign to spread awareness among construction contractors and workers on how to keep the clear the debris in time, keeping the public safety and hygiene in mind. The civic body has been issuing warning that is solely the responsibility of landlords and contractors to clear the debris and construction materials so that they do not cause hazards or obstructions. Violations of the rules include hefty fines.
