Awareness programmes discussed

MUSCAT: Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, met on Tuesday with Oman Human Rights Commission members and discussed with them the means used in handling child violence and abuse cases. The meeting also discussed means of linking the Ministry of Social Development with other organisations with regard to the data on beneficiaries of social aids. The meeting also reviewed Ministry of Social Development’s annual plan with regard to awareness programmes on child rights, the best child upbringing practices, school management of child abuse cases and the importance of reporting child abuse cases through the proper channels. — ONA
