Warning (1) issued with Mekunu 400km away

The latest warning from National Multi-Hazard and Early Warning Centre of Public Authority of Civil Aviation states tropical cyclone Mekunu graded as 1 is now 400 km away from Salalah, while the nearest convective clouds to the caosts of Sadah are 40km. The current wind speed at the centre of the cyclone is 70 – 80 knots (126-144) km/h. The system is expected to increase in intensity raising cyclonic status to grade 2 in the next 12 hours. The Sea is rough with a wave height of five to eight meters.
