Mekunu makes landfall in Dhofar: Met

The latest warning from National Multi-Hazard and Early Warning Centre said that the centre of Cyclone Mekunu has entered the coast of Dhofar between Rasyut and Rakhyut.
In its Warning 7, Oman Meteorology said heavy rainfall will continue in the governorate of Dhofar and Al Wusta, accompanied by strong winds, heavy thunderstorms, rainfall in the range of 600mn. Dhofar governorate will continue to receive heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.
The Sea state will be rough in Dhofar and Al Wusta with a wave height of 8 to 12 meters causing floods in low lying levels due to rising sea levels, while in the South Sharqiyah it will be around 3 to 5 metres.
