Three months jail, RO500 for crossing wadis

The Public Prosecution has warned motorists who cross the wadis and low-lying areas despite warnings from the authorities. 'Intentionally crossing wadis that may risk your life and also the lives of the passengers is a crime punishable by imprisonment for three months and a fine of RO500. Washing away of cars with people was the reason behind three of the five deaths that were reported after cyclone Mekunu lashed the Dhofar governorate last week.
