Video: Motorist booked for crossing wadi in Dhofar

Muscat: A motorist has been arrested for venturing into a waterlogged area of Dhofar during the recent adverse weather conditions that followed the cyclone Mekunu.

He was booked for violations after a video went viral through the social media as the case was referred to Public Prosecution.

Public Prosecution had warned motorists who cross the wadis and low-lying areas despite warnings from the authorities.

“Intentionally crossing wadis that may risk your life and also the lives of the passengers is a crime punishable by imprisonment for three months and a fine of RO500.
