New online services to recruit domestic workers

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Manpower, in coordination with the Information Technology Authority (ITA), has launched the new service where sponsors can directly apply for certain professions. In a statement, ITA said, “The ‘Special Work enables the users of the system on the Ministry of Manpower website to apply for work permits for domestic workers and other professions such as gardeners, for imams and mosque servant, camel breeders, ship engine mechanics/ship electricians and home nurses.” The facilities allow replacement of non-Omani workers that departed the country less than 90 days after arrival. It also states replacement of non-Omani workers who departed the country before being issued with work permits.
