Habta: a flourishing Eid tradition

They can happen anywhere — from the comfort of fortified structures of Nizwa souq, to parking lots like the one in Wadi Kabir or the more traditional and scenic open spaces under the shades of date palms like those found in Fanja, Bidbid and Bausher. [gallery link='file' ids='465993,465992,465989'] Called habta or morning markets, they are full of different activities, all in preparation for the Eid holiday. Livestock, vegetables and fruits, different household items — anything needed for Eid can be found here. Even children have a section dedicated for them with hundreds of colourful toys on display.
