RO 2.3m Sultan Qaboos National Hyperbaric Centre opens next week

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health will celebrate next week under the auspices of Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, the opening of the National Hyperbaric Centre project at the Royal Hospital in the Wilayat of Bausher which cost about RO 2.3 million. The centre, set up on 851 square metres, has been provided with necessary medical equipment and instruments. It comprises a department for medical records, a computer room, examination room, 3 triage rooms, a store and the main room which includes three devices for treatment with oxygen. The devices are the best of their kind in the world in the field of hyperbaric medicine, two of them accommodating 12 persons each at the group treatment room and one device at a single treatment room. The centre’s staff were trained at specialised training centres in Germany and Austria, in addition to practical training in the medical complex at Said bin Sultan Naval Base. — ONA
