Kochi Airport to remain shut till August 26

Photo source: @ShivAroor Muscat: Operations at the Kochi International Airport have been temporarily suspended till August 26, since the inflow of water is still on a rising trend, a statement from the said. The closure is due to heavy inflow of water consequent to opening of dams. This is done to minimize the inconvenience  to passengers and as a precautionary measure to ensure operational safety,' the airline said. Airlines from Muscat operating to Kochi - Oman Air, Air India, Jet Airways, earlier said that the scheduled flights between Muscat and Kochi will be transferred to Thiruvanthapuram International Airport until August 18. It was earlier reported that the airport will remain shut till August 18 evening. Air India Express has all waived penalties for modification, cancellation, no-show, sector, along with full refund for cancellation. This is applicable to all flights from and to Kerala till August 26.
