Oman Health expo begins on Sept 24

Muscat, Aug 29 - Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health, will inagurate the 8th edition of Oman Health Exhibition and Conference on September 24. This was announced at a press conference on Wednesday. The three-day annual international event, recognised as Oman’s biggest health and medical event and held in conjunction with Oman Medical Association (OMA), will once again make its mark on the healthcare scene by bringing in close to 200 exhibiting partners from 18 countries. The event is organised by OmanExpo and Oman Medical Association. Dr Waleed bin Khalid al Zadjali, President of the Omani Medical Association, said the conference aims to develop the mechanism of health work in the Sultanate. “This year’s edition will see Iran, Taiwan and India pavilions. Iran will bring in a consortium of top manufacturers of medical devices and exporters.” Coinciding with the exhibition will be a scientific conference, organised by OMA, where 50 speakers from top specialists will discuss topics such as general medicine, pediatrics, surgery, health economics, medical ethics and legal concerns, emergency medicine, patient safety, risk management and medical errors. It will also discuss government’s strategies outlined in its Health Vision 2050. Dr Taha al Lawati, Head of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, said the conference attracts a number of international institutions specialised in the production and marketing of medical tools, medical supplies and hospitals. Zainab al Nassri
