Nikon has launched its full-frame mirrorless cameras known as Nikon Z7 and Z6. Together with the full-frame mirrorless cameras, Nikon also released the NIKKOR Z lenses, which has a new larger diametre mount to adapt to the next generation of ultimate optical performance. Nikon’s latest models are expected to go head-to-head against Sony’s $3,000 full-frame A7R III and $2,000 A7III cameras. According to Nikon, the Z mount system is composed of mirrorless cameras and compatible NIKKOR Z lenses and accessories. They were created based on the company’s pursuit of new dimension and optical performance. The Z mount system is highlighted by a new larger diameter mount, which allows it to accommodate new lens design. Also, the Z mount system will offer different high-performance lenses. Nikon said the Z7 and Z6 both carry a new backside illumination Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor, which has a focal-plane phase-detection AF. The two models are equipped with the latest image-processing engine, EXPEED 6. The EXPEED 6 provides sharp and clear imaging and supports new functions for creativity. The high-end Z7 is equipped with a 45.7 MP and can keep up with a standard sensitivity range of ISO 64-25,600. Combined with NIKKOR Z lenses, the Z7 can give an outstanding level of sharpness and details, even on the edges of the image.
