Muscat: An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale has hit central Iran at 10:23:38 (Oman time) on Friday, about 511km from Muscat and 379 km from Khasab, reported the Earthquake Monitoring Committee (EMC) of the Sultan Qaboos University.
