Lebanon hold Oman goalless in friendly

MUSCAT, Sept 10 - GCC champions Oman were held to a goalless draw by Lebanon late on Sunday at Amman International Stadium in Jordan. Oman head coach Pim Verbeek substituted many players during the two halves of the first friendly match at Jordan camp. The Dutchman started the match with Ali al Habsi as goalkeeper, Khalid al Beriki, Basil al Rawahi, and Mohammed Faraj in the defence. Ali al Jabri, Mohammed al Mashari, Al Mundher al Alawi, Omar al Fazari, Moutaz Abd Rabouh were the mid-field and Abdulaziz al Muqbali was the lone forward. The match did not see many real scoring chances from both the teams. OMAN TO MEET JORDAN TODAY Oman will conclude Jordan camp with a friendly match against Jordan on Tuesday ahead of the AFC Asian Cup in the UAE next January. It is expected that Verbeek will give chance for new players for better evaluation of their technical performance. As the camp will get over on Wednesday, the coach and technical team is in the process of selecting the best squad for the AFC Asian cup.
