Armed Forces Medical Services military medicine begins today

MUSCAT: The Armed Forces Medical Services will open today the first Disaster and Military Medicine Conference under the auspices of Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, at Al Shafaq Club of the Sultan’s Armed Forces. The three-day conference will be attended by more than 500 participants from inside and outside the Sultanate, during which more than 25 working papers will be presented, divided into eight main themes dealing with a number of aspects related to military medicine and disaster medicine. The aim of the conference is to train the medical staff in the Armed Forces Medical Services, the Ministry of Health (MoH), Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), to perform their duties, achieve the highest professional standards and provide optimal medical care. The conference is also part of the Sultanate’s preparations for the Al Shomoukh 2 and Swift Sword 3 exercises scheduled for October this year. — ONA
