Rain lashes some wilayats of Oman

Muscat, Dec 16 - A weak trough brought in layers of clouds on Sunday, resulting in rain in some areas of Sea of Oman coast and Al Wusta. Rains were also reported in Seeb, Qurayat and Al Amerat. According to the Met Office, the chances of rain was predicted only for Sunday. “It has been the effect of a weak trough with high humidity.”Advection clouds in Al Wusta brought light rain in the governorate.Sea conditions are expected to be moderate to rough along Arabian Sea coastal areas with a maximum wave height of 2.5 metres and slight to moderate along rest of the Sultanate coasts with a maximum wave height of 1.5 metres. By Monday, mainly clear skies are expected over most of the Sultanate with chance of clouds advection along the coastal areas of Arabian Sea. Jabal Shams is the coldest place in Oman with temperature touching 3 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 8 degrees Celsius.
