Illegal furniture factory raided in Muttrah

Muscat: In cooperation with the Public Prosecution and Royal Oman Police (ROP), Muscat Municipality raided a house of expatriate workers in Greater Muttrah recently.
The workers were involved in the making and upholstery of furniture and carpentry work illegally, without license.
The materials were confiscated and the violators were referred to the competent authorities.
Article 7 of the Consumer Protection Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 66/2014 prohibits the circulation of any counterfeit, corrupt or unauthorized merchandise, and prohibits advertising.
