Health Ministry deals with six poisonous puffer fish cases

Muscat: The National Poison Control Center of Ministry of Health’s Directorate General of Diseases Control & Surveillance responded to a number of (6) critical cases with symptoms of acute poisoning due to consuming the poisonous puffer fish.

All the six cases were admitted to Intensive Care Unit at one of Muscat Referral Hospital.

Hence, the National Poison Control Center urges all to take the necessary precautions in addition to ensuring the fish is suitable for human consumption. --ONA
