Gas cylinders destroyed for not meeting specifications

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) confiscated and destroyed a number of cooking gas cylinders in the Governorate of Dakhiliyah for failing to comply with the requirements of the Omani standard for the packaging, transport and distribution of LPG. 

It may be noted that the gas cylinders are routinely checked at inspection stations with licences issued by competent authorities based on qualifications and expertise in the field of inspection, testing, maintenance and repairing the cylinders, according to the provisions of Omani standard specification No 201/2014.
