Oman bans unlicensed door-to-door sales, services

Muscat: The chairman of Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has issued a decree 10/2019 banning salespeople from visiting homes and residential units offering goods or providing services (door-to-door sales). The first article of the decree says prohibits salespeople suppliers from visiting homes and residential units to offer the sale of goods or services without the request of the consumer. Article 2 provides for the punishment of violators by imposing an administrative fine of not less than RO200 and not more than RO1,000 for any person who violates this decision. Article III affirmed the repeal of Resolution 258/2015, and the cancellation of anything that contravenes this decision or contradicts its provisions.
