Fine to be imposed on barbecue in parks, beaches

Muscat: The chairman Muscat Municipality has issued Decree 31/2019 banning certain activities in public places.

Article 1 prohibits the use of fire for barbecue in parks, public beaches, corridors and green spaces except in the sites and places designated for this purpose by the municipality.

Article (2) stipulates that 'Without prejudice to the penalties stipulated in Article (14) of the Muscat Municipality Law, any person who contravenes the provisions of this decree shall be liable to an administrative fine of RO 100.

It should be noted that the decision was based on the Muscat Municipality Law issued by Royal Decree No. 38/2015.
