SALALAH: Researchers and academics from 27 countries took part in the third International Conference on Computing and Data Analysis, which was held in Salalah.
Organised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah, the two-day conference focused on advances in computing, artificial intelligence, data science and cybersecurity.
The conference received 689 research papers involving 1,983 researchers from 37 countries, with 100 papers accepted following scientific evaluation, according to Dr Ahmed bin Ali al Shahri, Assistant President of the university in Salalah.
Around 25 per cent of the participating researchers are from Oman, with several focusing on research relevant to national priorities, including Arabic language resources and applications in communications, mining and agriculture.

She said the accepted papers would be published on the IEEE Xplore platform, which is indexed in the Scopus database, making the research accessible to the international academic community.
The conference programme includes discussions on generative AI and cybersecurity, software engineering, information systems, data analytics, computer networks, privacy and responsible artificial intelligence.
It also features panel discussions, technical workshops and research presentations across seven thematic tracks.
The conference seeks to promote scientific research, encourage innovation and strengthen international cooperation among researchers and academic institutions in line with Oman Vision 2040. — ONA
