Medical City performs surgery using Da Vinci robot

MUSCAT: The Medical City for Military and Security Services recently conducted a surgical operation to partially remove a patient’s kidney and remove a renal tumour, while at the same time keeping healthy tissues by using a 'Da Vinci' fifth-generation advanced robotic surgery system, which is one of the most modern systems in the world.
The accomplishment was in pursuance of the Medical City’s keenness to develop health services and adopt the latest medical technologies and innovations — in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The Da Vinci System features precise robotic surgical instruments and high-definition 3D vision, in addition to advanced techniques to control the movement of instruments. This enhances the accuracy of operations, contributes to reducing surgical intervention and loss of blood and supports patient recovery. — ONA
