MUSCAT: Al Rusayl Industrial City signed seven investment contracts worth more than RO 23 million in the first half of 2026, led by a medical equipment and supplies manufacturing project, as cumulative investment in the estate exceeded RO 780 million.
The industrial city, part of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), received 13 investment applications during the six-month period. The seven contracted projects cover industrial, property and service activities and will occupy a combined 121,619 square metres.
Eng Fahad bin Nasser al Abrawi, Acting Director-General of Al Rusayl Industrial City, said the medical equipment and supplies project accounted for RO 15 million of the contracted investment.
Other projects include a property development valued at RO 3 million, an international institute costing RO 1.80 million and a bulldozer and tracked undercarriage manufacturing project worth RO 1.50 million.
The remaining contracts cover activities including marble cutting and sawing, property sales, leasing and management, and blacksmithing workshops.
Al Rusayl Industrial City covers about 11.04 million square metres, of which approximately 7.20 million square metres have been developed. A further 3.84 million square metres remain undeveloped.
Employment across the industrial city and its logistics zone is projected to reach 22,196 in 2026, with Omanisation at about 38.8 per cent, Al Abrawi said.
The city is continuing work on the Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex in partnership with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development. The project will provide equipped industrial workshops for entrepreneurs and start-ups, helping businesses establish operations.
Al Abrawi said several other development projects and initiatives were being evaluated to improve infrastructure and services, strengthen operational efficiency and enhance the investor experience.
During the first half, the city held investor meetings and programmes covering renewable energy development, energy efficiency and carbon emissions reduction. Meetings and field visits also assessed the requirements of businesses operating in the food sector.
Al Rusayl Industrial City Company received a Tax Excellence Card from the Tax Authority in recognition of its compliance with tax legislation, timely payment of liabilities and adherence to disclosure requirements.
The estate also conducted occupational health and safety programmes, including first-aid training and activities marking World Day for Safety and Health at Work. A road safety awareness programme for drivers was organised in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police.
Its Masar service centre provides a single location for investors to obtain project approvals, permits and licences within specified timeframes, helping simplify procedures for establishing and operating businesses.
The centre also supports the monitoring of stalled projects and provides access to consultancy, financing, banking, medical examination, postal, marketing and promotional services.
