Tesla begins hiring in Muscat ahead of Oman launch

Muscat: Tesla has begun recruiting its first sales team in Muscat as it prepares to enter Oman. The US electric vehicle maker initially advertised three full-time positions in the capital for a store manager, a sales adviser and a customer experience specialist. The store manager listing points to plans for a physical retail outlet in Muscat.

EVwire reported on October 14 that Tesla planned to enter Oman in 2027, citing a LinkedIn announcement by Pawel Trzpis, the company’s Middle East market lead. Trzpis said Tesla was building its local team from the ground up, starting with sales. His edited post confirms the Oman expansion and leaves the launch year unspecified.

The recruitment follows Tesla’s expansion elsewhere in the Gulf. The company launched in the UAE in 2017, opened online orders in Qatar in December 2023 and entered Saudi Arabia in April 2025. By March 2026, Tesla had sales and service centres in Riyadh and Jeddah and 48 Supercharger stalls across Saudi Arabia, according to EVwire.

Tesla has previously worked with Majid Al Futtaim in Oman. In 2018, the two companies collaborated to install four electric vehicle charging stations at City Centre Muscat, where motorists could charge for free. The initial recruitment announcement left details of Tesla’s Oman service and Supercharger plans open, along with the showroom location, vehicle lineup and local pricing.
