Take advantage of strong partnership between Brunei, Oman, HM tells businesses

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam, hold an official meeting at Istana Nurul Iman in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, in the presence of the Royal Family of Brunei Darussalam and the Omani official delegation. The meeting reviewed the good relations uniting the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both peoples.

His Majesty the Sultan delivered a speech on this occasion, the text of which reads as follows:
“Your Majesty Sultan Haji HassanalBolkiah,

It is a pleasure to be received this morning by Your Majesty, here in beautiful #Brunei Darussalam. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for your warm reception and generous hospitality extended to me and my delegation.

We are happy to be in Brunei Darussalam once again on this occasion, which stands as a reflection of the deep and enduring bonds between our two nations. We are committed to further strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation with a determination to launch a new and bright chapter in the history of the Omani- Brunei Darussalam relations.

We also would like to express our great satisfaction with the development of economic and investment relations between our nations, which is reflected, for example, by the Oman Brunei Investment Company. We hope that the company will seize and explore new investment opportunities in various sectors in both countries. We highly appreciate your Majesty’s interest and your government efforts in developing the economic partnership between our two countries.

This visit also reaffirms our strong commitment and full support for further developing these relations. We look forward to achieving our joint vision and expanding the trade volume in the years to come, although it does not reflect currently the strength of our partnership, but I am confident that we can elevate these figures to higher levels. Oman is committed to enhancing its non-oil revenues and views Brunei Darussalam as a strategic gateway to the broader Asian markets. Likewise, Brunei Darussalam can benefit from Oman’s unique position as a hub connecting the Gulf, Middle East and Africa, creating a seamless flow of goods and expertise between our regions.

We encourage all relevant parties from the public and private sectors in both countries to maintain their efforts to explore the opportunities of this partnership and to empower businesspersons to benefit from the promising business and investment opportunities, which will bring to both countries prosperity, security and overall well-being.

Accompanying me on this visit are several ministers responsible for these sectors, who are keen to explore further areas for cooperation. We also look toward promising prospects and partnership in the fields of oil, gas, renewable energy, food security, maritime transportation and logistics as well as other sectors, thereby contributing to economic diversification in both nations.

In addition, there is significant potential for cooperation in innovation, technology, education and entrepreneurship. By strengthening ties between our academic institutions, fostering research collaboration, we can empower the next generation to drive economic diversification and build resilient economies.

Our nations also share a commitment to addressing pressing global challenges and promoting peace and stability. Brunei Darussalam’s views in fostering dialogue and multilateral cooperation resonate with #Oman’s approach to diplomacy. I am confident our countries can work closely together to address humanitarian challenges, climate change, promote international law, and contribute to global peace and security.

We hope this meeting will lead to concrete and practical steps that contribute in strengthening the economic relations, in addition to opening new horizons of integration and partnership between our two friendly countries.'
