Oman, Jordan explore higher education cooperation

MUSCAT: Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Shibli, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Higher Education, received a delegation from Jordan's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Shadi Awad, Secretary-General of the ministry. The visit aims to review opportunities for academic cooperation between the two sides, explore ways of attracting Omani students to study at higher education institutions in Jordan and the facilities offered by the Jordanian side in this regard, and gain insight into the quality of outcomes of Jordan's higher education system. It also covers the recognition of higher education institutions and universities in the two countries, matters of mutual interest, and an exchange of views on the prospects for academic and scientific cooperation in a way that strengthens educational ties between the two countries. The visit comes within the framework of the fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Jordan and the mutual keenness to enhance cooperation in the educational and academic fields, exchange expertise and expand cooperation between higher education institutions in both countries, serving shared interests and supporting the development of the higher education system. The meeting was attended by a number of ministry officials.
