Three killed in Saudi Arabia as Ansar Allah target oil field, airport

At least three people were killed in separate attacks on an airport and an oil field in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, authorities reported, amid an escalation in strikes by the Ansar Allah.
One person was killed and eight others were injured in an attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam on Wednesday evening, the Saudi civil aviation authority said early on Thursday.
The attack caused property damage, the extent of which was being assessed, the authority said in a statement on X.
Earlier, Saudi air defences shot down a drone which was targeting the Shaybah oil field run by state-owned company Aramco.
Two people were killed and two others were injured by debris after the drone was shot down, the Saudi Arabian state news agency SPA reported, citing the Energy Ministry.
The fatalities are reported to be a Filipino and a Nepalese national, although the information could not initially be verified.
In recent weeks, the Ansar Allah have ramped up attacks on neighbouring Saudi Arabia amid a renewed escalation of the war in Yemen.
Airports and oil facilities in the Gulf country have borne the brunt of the attacks, which have resulted in casualties.
