Hotpack and Sea Pride plan to establish a packaging complex in Khazaen Economic City with investment expected to exceed RO 30.00 million over three years, as industrial partnerships expand Oman’s manufacturing base.
The proposed facility in Barka is expected to create more than 300 jobs, according to Mohammed Ameen Sait, Chief Executive Officer of the Sea Pride Group of Companies.
The companies signed a memorandum of understanding at the Inspire Oman summit, which featured investment announcements spanning packaging, pharmaceuticals, engineering, oil-waste treatment and bathroom products.
The projects form part of efforts to strengthen Omani-Indian economic cooperation, attract manufacturing investment and develop local supply chains under Oman Vision 2040.
“This partnership will take the form of an industrial project focused on packaging materials and solutions, to be developed in Khazaen Economic City in Barka,” Sait said.
The complex is intended to bring a range of packaging solutions into a single facility, supporting industrial supply chains and meeting market demand.
Sait said the partnership with UAE-based Hotpack would expand Oman’s capacity to manufacture packaging materials to international standards, while creating employment opportunities and supporting national talent.
Hotpack was represented at the signing by Zainudheen P B, Co-Founder, Group Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director. Sea Pride was represented by Sait and Basim Shahjahan, Director of Pride Packaging.
The packaging development was among several industrial initiatives presented at the summit, highlighting investment opportunities across Oman’s economic and industrial zones.
In Duqm, Premium Global Group announced plans to establish a mini-refinery for the treatment and management of oil waste. The proposed facility will occupy 20,000 square metres within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.
The project is intended to expand oil-waste processing capabilities and develop energy-related industrial activities within the zone.
Engineering company E M Badhrudeen & Partners LLC showcased a new engineering and manufacturing facility involving investment of approximately RO 3.00 million. The facility has a built-up area of 4,180 square metres and is intended to expand the company’s engineering and manufacturing activities in Oman.
In the pharmaceutical sector, AVENZO Pharma unveiled plans for an integrated pharmaceutical complex in Khazaen Economic City. The proposed development would add local production capacity and support pharmaceutical supply chains.
Al Fidan Group also announced investment exceeding RO 6.00 million through BIANCA, its luxury bathroom solutions brand. The project will occupy more than 40,000 square metres in Khazaen Economic City.
The announcements underline the role of Khazaen and Duqm in attracting projects across a range of manufacturing and processing industries.
Beyond their capital investment, the projects are intended to support local procurement, develop technical skills and create opportunities for companies supplying industrial goods and services.
The proposed packaging complex, in particular, could strengthen links between local manufacturers and packaging suppliers by expanding the range of materials produced within Oman.
The summit’s investment initiatives reflect efforts to deepen Omani-Indian business ties through production and industrial partnerships, alongside traditional trade. Their contribution to economic diversification will depend on translating the announced plans into operating facilities, jobs and locally manufactured products.
