HH The Honourable Lady Addresses A Message of Greetings on Omani Women’s Day

Muscat: Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman addressed a message of greetings on the occasion of Omani Women’s Day. The text of the message reads as follows:

“On the occasion of Omani Women’s Day, it gives me great pleasure to join our nation in honouring the women of Oman, whose strength, wisdom and dedication have contributed so profoundly to the character and progress of our country. Across generations, they have been the custodians of our rich heritage, the bearers of our enduring values and an essential part of the story of our nation. Through their devotion and achievements, they have helped shape Oman we know today and the future to which we aspire. It is with great pride and affection that I extend my warmest wishes to every family across our beloved Oman, and to every woman who lives beneath its skies and calls this land home.

This year, our celebration carries particular significance. His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a Royal Directive allocating an additional seat for women in the Shura Council in each governorate. This marks an important milestone in our nation’s development, affirming the esteem in which Omani women are held, His Majesty’s confidence in their capabilities, and their essential role in shaping our country’s future. It reflects a vision of progress that honours our heritage while embracing the possibilities of a changing world. With this recognition comes a responsibility to translate opportunity into meaningful participation, and the trust placed in Omani women into dedicated service to our nation.

We live in an age of remarkable change. Knowledge is advancing at an extraordinary pace, ideas are increasingly interconnected, and the influences shaping our societies are more diverse than ever before. In this evolving world, the role of women in nurturing individuals, strengthening families and shaping the character of our communities has never been more important. Their influence extends far beyond any single profession or responsibility. It is reflected in the minds they inspire, the values they instil, the confidence they nurture and the sense of identity and belonging they help preserve. I have every confidence that the women of Oman will continue to fulfil this profound responsibility with wisdom, foresight and an unwavering sense of purpose, guided by the knowledge, sound judgement and dedication that have long distinguished their contributions to our nation.

To honour women is to recognise something far greater than a single day of celebration. It is to acknowledge a lifelong commitment to giving, to nurturing potential and to building a society in which every individual is valued and has the opportunity to flourish. It is also to reaffirm our belief that knowledge empowers, dignity uplifts and creativity opens new horizons. These are among the enduring foundations upon which strong and prosperous nations are built, and the principles that must continue to guide us as we prepare future generations for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

To every Omani woman, I offer my deepest appreciation, my highest esteem and my heartfelt prayers.
